All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We receive transaction identifiers and status information from Stripe. — Identity verification: in some cases, we may request identity documents to comply with financial regulations. — Usage data: information about how you use the platform, including log data, device information, and IP addresses.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
— Provide, operate, and maintain the Coredon platform. — Process payments and manage escrow transactions. — Generate and store legally binding contracts for your projects. — Verify your identity when required by law. — Send you transactional emails related to your projects and account. — Respond to your questions and support requests. — Detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized activity. — Comply with our legal obligations under Canadian law.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
How we share your information
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
— With your clients or freelancers: project details, names, and contact information are shared between the parties involved in a transaction, as necessary to complete that transaction. — With Stripe: payment information is processed by Stripe, Inc. in accordance with their privacy policy. Stripe acts as our payment processor and is subject to PCI DSS compliance requirements. — With service providers: we may share information with trusted third-party providers who help us operate our platform (hosting, email delivery, analytics). These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify. — When required by law: we may disclose your information when required to do so by a court order, subpoena, or applicable law. — In a business transfer: if Coredon is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as long as necessary to provide you with our services. We also retain information as required by law — for example, financial transaction records may be retained for a minimum of seven years to comply with Canadian tax and financial regulations.
When your account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
